Mitochondria Food Plan and The Ketogenic diet
The mitochondria are the "powerhouse" of the cell. That means they make all the energy your body uses to exist as a living organism. Dr. Maria believes that we must consider the cell in healing and maintaining our bodies, therefore the Mitochondria Food Plan is our eating style of choice. It eliminates all inflammatory foods, provides plenty of nutrients and anti-oxidants and improves overall energy. It tends to be hormone balancing, mood stabilizing and anti-aging. It even prevents dementia and Alzheimer's. The Ketogenic diet is a little more refined program from the mitochondria program and can be done short term (2 weeks to a month) or long term. This program is for people who are new to cleansing or have been eating the Standard American Diet. It is a 3 week program to reduce inflammation, detox the liver and provide nutrients of repair.
